How well will this work in the winter? How about in the shade/Cloud covered sky?
I have mine in the window of my house. It still charges on cloudy days just not as many volts as a sunny day. I have it connected to a 50 amp hour ago battery and keeps it charged good. I recommend it. I also have a spare one I haven't used yet also working on getting a couple more.

What watt kit would be best to maintain my 12v battery on my RV for storage?
I own and use this solar panel to charge the 12v battery on my automatic gate opener and it has performed flawlessly for over 3 years. This panel provides approximately 1.5 amps @13.4 volts perfect for maintaining a charge in a single 12v deep cycle rv battery. I hope this helps you.

Will it charge a 33 ah battery?
i don't see why not
-
I don\'t know much about these, but could I run this panel through the controller to charge a small, standard car battery?
Absolutely, however it will take some time. It will not work like a standard battery charger, but if you are storing or not planning on not using the car for a while it is a great way to keep the battery up. I have one on my shed to keep the lawn tractor battery up.
-
will this charge a cheap acid type battery?

-
can i charge two 12 volt batteries simultaneously

If it is dark out, will the battery take over the load
the battery should be the load bearer all the time. The proper way use this device is to charge and maintain the BATTERY. The battery is connected to the device or item that requires 12v power to operate. The solar panel is connected to the battery and recharges and maintains it. Works very well while in this configuration. Put some lubricant on the stripped wires that connect to the controller to minimizing rusting. Put some Vaseline on the battery terminals to stop corrosion. If possible keep the controller in a dry place and you should have many of service. Good luck and God bless

Will it stop charging after battery is full
Hi Seth, yes, it will stop charging when the battery is full. The charge controller has over charge and over discharge protection for battery.
-
What is the input voltage for the charge controller?
the input voltage for the charge controller is 12v or 24v. As the solar panel is 12v, so this 30w kit is 12v system
-
Is the panel pretty much weather proof (Snow/Rain)? Thanks,
I have had it for only a few months, so far no problems at all. But, Im in southern California and it hasn't rained in a few months. The moisture from fog doesn't seem to affect it.
-
Does the controller protect the panel from overcharging and undercharging? Thanks!
Yes it does.
-
Does this need to be disconnected when battery is receiving a charge from an alternator?
I would say yes, because you might get a reverse charge from the solar panel. Even when you wire it up so the sunlight charges the battery, there is a reverse charge so you don't try to charge the solar panel. The alt. might be hot enough to try to charge the solar panel.

Can I hook the solar panel directly to a small light bulb socket for a school project and will it light ?
Your light bulb must be a 12 volt bulb like from an RV
